Your activity in game and on the forums is the biggest factor in how successful you will be and how successful the community will be as a whole. Without activity, little else matters.
The forums contain a LOT of useful OOC and IC information. Please visit regularly to stay updated!
We are a roleplaying community. We need people to be willing to reach out and participate in order to create something lasting and fun. Attending events on the calendar not only helps the guild but helps YOU!
You will never be forced to partake in any form of roleplay. It's your choice when, how, and where you wish to roleplay.
If you wish to be more involved with the story of the guild, please reach out to our officers so that we can accomodate you.
We support an inclusive environment for LGBT and all races and religions. Hateful or violent speech of any type will not be tolerated, including imagery or content that is harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, hateful, invasive of personal privacy, or objectionable in a reasonable person’s view. In addition to in-game guild chat, this includes the forums, Discord, and all other areas of guild communication.
If an issue arises, speak to an officer immediately. If there is no officer online and someone is behaving unacceptably, simply tell them it is against our Code of Conduct and submit a ticket. Do not perpetuate the drama. Do not argue with them.
Slandering your guild mates or the guild itself on public channels is grounds for suspension.
Metagaming (using OOC information to manipulate a situation ICly) and God-moding (forcing your will upon someone else's character without their consent) will not be tolerated.
We as an officer team strive for transparency to keep the entire guild included, and we request that everyone else does the same with us.
If you have any feedback, suggestions or issues, please either submit a ticket or come to an officer directly. In the case of an issue or complaint involving another person, providing screenshots is pivotal to us being able to resolve the issue.
Cultivate a positive reputation.
Please represent Eternus in a positive, community-focused manner. What you do and how you act are reflections upon our community.
Don't use hacks or cheats.
Hacks and cheats are a bannable offense in most games and we do not support the use of them within the guild. Be aware of any game's rules pertaining to macros. If their use is unsupported, it will be so within the guild as well.
All characters must have lore appropriate names. That being said, if there is a well thought-out explanation to a questionable name, there likely won't be much criticism. If a game does not allow spacing, we don't want to see compound names such as Toxavanschiver for Toxa Vanschiver. Silly names such as Kittykat or Bigepeen will be denied.
Website and Forum Names
Your website and forum name should be something that helps everyone identify you and your characters. We would prefer you add your character to your profile and assign it to our Enjin website or change your main profile name to match.
Eternus is a community that strives to create fun and interesting plots and characters that harmonize with a game's lore. There is plenty of grey area and known lore to play with, and we wish to avoid characters or stories that fall too far outside of established lore.
Player Versus Player and Griefing
Open world PvP against established enemies is fair game if it exists. However, we do not attack fellow roleplayers unless explicity allowed. If you see a character roleplaying, leave them be. If issues do present themselves, submit a ticket including screenshots immediately.
Griefing (when you kill the same player over and over again) is not in the spirit of honorable PvP and is not tolerated.
Please abide by all rules in our guild channels.
Guild Chat is completely Out Of Character.
Local Chat is entirely In Character. Please try to avoid OOC chat, even with parenthesis.
Whispers are up to the individual but best to approach them as IC and use (( )) for OOC messages.
Party Chat and Raid Chat are up to the leader of that group whether it is IC or OOC.
All global chat channels (such as trade) are considered Out Of Character.
We know it happens, but we have a strict 'No Public ERP' stance. With that said, what you do in your own whispers or party chat with players who agree to it is up to you. There are no channels in our Discord for ERP so do not hold it there.
Ensure that you always have express consent before engaging in erotic roleplay with another. Not doing so can be construed as sexual harassment.
Sharing logs or screenshots of ERP will not be tolerated, most especially if there is not consent to share from all sides. Have respect for your fellow guild members.
Leaving the Community
We understand that people move on for various reasons. Please let the officers know ahead of time if you plan to leave the community and please arrange to have any guild responsibilities managed. If you do decide to rejoin Eternus you will need to submit a new application. The officer team will assess your application along with the details surrounding your departure before approval.
Removal from the Community
Members may be removed from the community for breaking our Code of Conduct or for prolonged inactivity. Potential rejoining will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Suspension can occur as a punishment for certain offenses. It includes a temporary ban from certain activities on the website, Discord and in-game guild. The term of suspension can vary from between one week and one month.
Members are given up to three official warnings before being removed from the guild. Warnings are given for breaching our Code of Conduct. It is up to the judgement of the officer team as to whether or not a member's actions warrant immediate removal.
Total removal from the community for reasons beyond inactivity will not occur without discussion with both the involved parties and the full officer team.
We currently remove members who have not been in game or on the website for 30 days. If you plan to be gone that long please make sure you post a Leave of Absence on the forums as well as have any responsibilities taken care of.
